Phillip Joel Holtzclaw, 74, of Albany, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

His funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in the Chapel at Sherwood Baptist Church with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Greer, SC, Mr. Holtzclaw had lived in Albany for the past 30 years.  He retired from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years of service at the rank of MSGT.  After his retirement spent 14 years working at MCLB and then spent 13 years working with the Dougherty Count Sheriff’s Department.

He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and the Living Word Connect Group.

Survivors include his wife Chin Holtzclaw, daughter Jennifer Bass (Ryan), grandchildren, Wesley Bass, Mazie Bass, sister, Donna Steading (Steve), niece, Amanda Turner, Nephew, Kyle Steading.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Atrium at Sherwood Baptist Church.
