Peggy Alsobrook Strickland

Peggy Alsobrook Strickland, 80, of Lee County, GA died August 4, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Bobby Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Albany, born to the late James Ray and Louise Miller Alsobrook, Mrs. Strickland had resided in Albany most of her life before moving to Lee County, GA three years ago. She graduated from Albany High School, was employed with Southern Bell Telephone early on and was a homemaker most of her adult life. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and the Open Door Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband, J.K. Strickland of Lee County, GA, three sons, Keith (Susan) Strickland of Albany, Doug (Diane) Strickland of Americus, GA and Richard Strickland of Albany, GA, a daughter, Holly Strickland of Lee County, GA, a brother, James R. Alsobrook, Jr. of Newton, GA, four grandchildren, Justin (Rebecca) Strickland of Albany, GA, Erin Strickland (Jim) Rehberg of Thomasville, GA, Whitney Strickland of Lee County, GA and Austin Strickland of West Blockton, AL and four great-grandchildren, Caroline Strickland, JP Rehberg, Sophie Rehberg and Riley Schultz. She was preceded in death by her step-father, R. C. Frazier and a brother, Bobby Alsobrook.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
