Peggy Boyer Blaxton

Peggy Boyer Blaxton, 60, of Albany, GA died July 26, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. Don Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Albany, GA, born to the late John and Martha Hendricks Boyer, Peggy spent ten years growing up in Waycross, GA before returning to Albany with her family. She graduated from Albany High School in 1970 and attended Albany Junior College.

She was employed with the Albany Credit Bureau early in her career, then First National Bank (now SunTrust Bank) and retired from Heritage Bank of the South. Peggy was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Albany, GA and was the widow of James T. (Whistle) Blaxton.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, John and Reba Boyer of Arlington, GA, a nephew, Chris Boyer of Albany, GA, an aunt, Ester Hendricks of Columbus, GA a number of cousins and two close friends, Brenda Waldrop and Phyllis Winstead both of Lee County, GA.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
