Paula Rodgers Mathews

Paula Rogers Mathews, 61, of Lee County, GA, died April 13, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Paula was born in Topeka, KS to the late James and Patricia Rogers. Being part of a military family, she lived many places before moving to Albany, GA in 1969. She graduated from Worth County High School and Albany Technical College. Paula served in the US Air Force before retiring as a Supervisor with the 911 Communication Center in Albany and enjoyed boating and camping.

Survivors include her husband, Walter D. Mathews, Jr. of Lee County, GA, a son, David Lassiter and his wife, Kayleen of Albany, GA, three daughters, Kathryn (Kat) Lassiter and her fiancee Steve Mote of Douglas, GA, Jessica Ouzts and her husband, Jonathan and Kali Maree Mathews all of Lee County, GA, her mother-in-law, Myra Mathews of Worth County, GA, a brother, Kenneth Rogers and his wife, Vickie of Albertville, AL, eight grandchildren, Derek Creaden, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Deven Lassiter and Dylan Causey both of Douglas, GA, Jason Lassiter of Lee County, GA, Cody Williams of Albany, GA, Riley Jewell Ouzts and Amelia Nell Ouzts both of Lee County, GA.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Monday before the funeral at Mathews Funeral Home.
