Paul Eugene Parrish (SSgt, USMC, Ret.), 77, of Albany, GA died April 23, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Vision Baptist Church in Americus, GA. Rev. Rhys Key will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. A native of Tallapoosa, GA, born to the late John and Cordie Parrish, Mr. Parrish joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He served twenty years and was very proud of being a member of the United States Marine Corps Pistol Team. After retiring in Quantico, VA, Mr. Parrish moved to Albany, GA where he was employed as a truck driver with Florida Rock and Southeastern Frozen Foods. Mr. Parrish continued to compete in Pistol Competition after his Military Career and was currently working with the GA DNR as a Range Safety Officer. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 30, the National Rifle Association, enjoyed hunting, and was an animal lover. Survivors include his wife, Hatsuko Parrish of Albany, GA, his children, Marjorie Flynn of Albany, GA, Cathy McMahan, Joann Bishop and Mike Flynn and his wife, Karen all of Lee County, GA and Patrick Flynn and his wife Deborah of Elizabethtown, KY, his sisters, Carolyn Harville of McDonough, GA, Edna Mann of Douglasville, GA, Linda Farmer and her husband Earl of Logansville, GA, and Teresa Martin of Atlanta, GA, Donna Martin of Tallapoosa, GA, a brother, Lance Martin and his wife, Brenda of Jackson, GA, his grandchildren, Brittany Hunkele of Albany, GA, Heather Hamilton and her husband Richard of Lee County, GA, Sabrina McMahan of Lee County, GA, Robert McMahan III of Lee County, GA, Amber Bishop and Abby Bishop of Lee County, GA, Michael Flynn and his wife, Heather of Thomasville, GA and Adam Flynn of Lee County, GA and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26th at Mathews Funeral Home.
