Paul D. Burk, 71, of Albany, GA, died March 27, 2017 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Knight will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #30 Honor Guard.

A native of Duncansville, PA, Paul graduated from Altoona Area High School and attended US Air Force College where he studied electrical engineering. He joined the United States Air Force in 1963 and was stationed at Hickman Field, Hawaii and Turner Field, Albany, GA.

Paul was employed with Proctor and Gamble as a maintenance technician retiring in 1993 and was employed with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital before retiring in 2008. He was a Black Belt in Karate, skilled in Jiu-jitsu and loved classic cars. Paul was a member of the Commons Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Burk of Albany, his sons, Timothy Burke of Sasser, GA and Michael Burk of Lake Charles, LA, a step-son, Shane Akins of Albany, GA, two daughters, Cindy Burk of Leesburg, GA and Kimberlie Burk of Albany, GA, a step-daughter, Kristie Martin of Augusta, GA. Survivors also include his sisters, Elosie Helsels of Bedford, PA, Susie Burk of Altoona, PA and Debbie Kabello of Hendersonville, TN, thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Paulie Burk and a step-son, Ben Hatcher, a sister, Bonnie Ebersall and a brother, Russell Clyde Burk.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home.
