Patty Sue Childree

Patty Sue Childree, 67, of Smithville, GA, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Melvin Slappey will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cody King, Jason Clenney, Gavin Bell, Lee Bell, Gary Lloyd and John Lloyd.

Born in Donalsonville, GA to the late Ernest and Cosetta Grant Lloyd, Mrs. Childree lived in Seminole County and moved to Albany, GA in 1969. She was employed with Coats and Clark as a Quality Inspector thirty-seven years and was also a secretary for Lee County Aluminum. Mrs. Childree moved to Lee County in 1983 and was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Donalsonville. Mrs. Childree was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Survivors include her husband, Hiram Childree of Smithville, GA, her daughters, Renee Childree of Leesburg, GA and Christy Bell and her husband, Lee of Lancaster, SC, her brother, William E. (Buddy) Lloyd of Albany, GA, one sister, Carlotte Hand of Bainbridge, GA, two grandchildren, Cody King of Lee County, GA and Gavin Bell of Lancaster, SC and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
