It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing as many of you know her as, “Patsy Cook, Spice for Life Lady”, we know her as our adored Awma, age 85. Or as she would say, “29 plus shipping and handling; and that’s a whole lot of shipping and handling!”
Patsy went home with her Lord Jesus on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. She was a dear mama and beloved friend to all who knew her. She was gracious and kind to everyone she met, always extending a hand to those in need.
In her accomplishments, she would say her children, grandchildren and family were the greatest! She loved and loved greatly all of her family. She was an author, speaker and a mentor to many women across the Southeast. Patsy traveled and shared her book and life story among thousands in church and community gatherings. She served her community and served it well. You may even hear her sweet southern belle broadcasts, “Spice For Life” when passing through north central Florida on Christian Radio.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Heyward H. Cook, Jr. “Buddy”. Also her second husband Donald Whitaker of 7 years, her son, Heyward H. Cook III, her mother, Vivian Howell Chandler, and her father and stepmother, K.W. & Evelyn Haines, her brother, Gene Haines.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy Cook Williams (O.A.) of Plains, Ga., her sons, Sam Cook (Sandra) of Leesburg, Ga., and John Cook (Wendy) of Panama City, Fl., her fourteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as her sister Linda Mayo of Dawson, Ga., her brothers, Kimbrough W. Haines of North Carolina and Stephen Le Quier of Ocala, Fl.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 3:00 pm EST, at the Leesburg City Cemetery, in Leesburg, Georgia. Grandson, Shane Short will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
