Norma Ellan Stinson

Norma Ellan Stinson, 70, of Lee County, GA, died March 7, 2018 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 P.M. at Friendship Baptist Church of Leesburg.  Rev. Barney Austin, Rev. Reagan Marsh and Rev. Walter Hare will officiate.  Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Dalton, GA, born to the late Dewey and Lizzie Clayton Hammontree, Mrs. Stinson graduated from North Whitfield High School in 1965 and married in 1966.  She was a minister’s wife and lived in Atlanta, Memphis and Arkansas before moving to the South Georgia area in 1981.  Mrs. Stinson was a member of Bryant Drive Baptist Church in Sylvester, GA.

Survivors include her husband of fifty two years, Ron Stinson of Lee County, GA, a son and his wife, Scott and Luanne Stinson of Colquitt County, GA, a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Tim Holley of Lee County, GA, two siblings, Jemyrr Ratcliff and her husband, Gordon of Lafayette, GA and Weldon Hammontree and his wife, Margie of Mobile, AL, seven grandchildren, Heather Wilkes and her husband, Shelby of Warner Robins, GA, Sam Stinson of Moultrie, GA, Jordan Hardin and her husband, Jackson of Moultrie, GA, Breanna Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Josh Holley and his wife, Vickie of Putney, GA and Greyson Holley and Hattie Holley both of Lee County, GA, two great-grandchildren, Ethan Holley and Vivian Holley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stinson will lie in state Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church Leesburg from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
