Nora Askew Henegar, 90, of Lee County, died Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the Willson Hospice House.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Mathews Funeral Home with interment to follow at 2:00 PM at Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA.
Born in Donaldsonville, Mrs. Henegar retired as a supervisor at the commissary at MCLB after 30 years. She was known for her Red Velvet cake, a lover of Southern Gospel Music, Blue Grass Music. She and her husband had made annual trips to Jekyll Island since the eighties to attend the Blue Grass Festival there.
Mrs. Henegar was preceded in death by her son Johnny Dale Carroll, and a granddaughter April Carroll.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Henegar, Lee County, daughter, Sandra Clenney (Gerald), Lee County, grandchildren, Stacy Hazelrig (Mike), Jason Clenney (Lindsey), great grandchildren, Peyton, Annabelle, Dana, Douglas, Carmen and Nash, a great great grandson Jack Miles and her brother Billy Askew.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Mathews Funeral Home.
