Nita Dale Peak Smith

Nita Dale Peak Smith, 68, of Albany, GA died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Palmyra Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Deans and Rev. Paul Wilkes will officiate. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Randolph County, GA.

A native of Brunswick, GA, Nita had resided in Albany, GA since 1992 moving from Griffin, GA. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and served in the children’s department where she taught first and second grade boys and girls in Sunday School/Awana and Vacation Bible School and was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Smith, her father, Harold Welton Peak and a brother, Paul Douglas Peak.

Survivors include her son, William Wayne Howard of Opp, AL; her mother, Joy Bethea Peak Glass of Albany, GA; brother, Jimmy (Crystal) Peak of Sumner, GA; three sisters, Martha Peak Matthews of Ormond Beach, FL, Kay Peak Shook of Albany, GA and Gloria Jean (Buddie) Peak Norton of Centre, AL.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family will be at the residence of Joy Bethea Peak Glass, 2210 Oakhaven Drive, Albany, GA 31721.
