Nevelle Powell Horne

Nevelle Powell Horne, 76, of Albany, GA died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Coolidge, GA, Mrs. Horne had resided in Albany since 1960 moving from Doerun, GA. She was a retired hygienist with the Dougherty County Health Department and a member of the Abigail Sunday School Class and Sherwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Revis Seaborn Powell and Madge Edith Carlton Powell and sister, Helen Dale Powell.

Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Horne, Jr., Albany, GA, a son, Bubba Horne (Vivian), Lee Co., GA, a daughter, Melanie H. Banis (Paul), Magee, MS, a brother, Carlton Powell, Thomasville, GA, a sister, Mae Scott, Albany, GA, four granddaughters, Susan Elizabeth Horne Page, Shannon Victoria Horne, Sarah Catherine Horne, Savannah Faith Banis and two great-grandchildren, Georgia Faith Page and Bristol Leigh Page.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
