Nettie Mae Brown

Nettie Mae Brown, 78, of Leesburg, GA, died March 27, 2017 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate. A visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

Nettie was born in Americus, GA to the late William Alvin Brown and Mary Etheridge Brown on December 4, 1938. She grew up in Sumter County, GA and moved to Thomasville, GA where she was employed with Archbold Memorial Hospital as a Nurse for many years. She attended Southwest Technical College in Americus and Thomas Techinical College in Thomasville. Nettie moved to Leesburg, GA thirteen years ago and she loved to read.

Survivors include three sisters, Sue Layfield of Leesburg, GA, Mary (Charlie) Haire of Lee County, GA and Pasty (Sam) Buford of Thomasville, GA, two brothers, Woodrow (Jean) Brown of Lincolnton, GA and Roy (Pat) Brown of Putney, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
