Nancy R. Shugart

Nancy R. Shugart, 77, of Albany, GA, died Friday, October 4, 2013 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation. A celebration of life for Mrs. Shugart will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dr. William D. "Biff" Coker will officiate.

A native of Chattanooga, TN, born to the late Henry H. and Beulah Swafford Roberson on July 18, 1935, Mrs. Shugart had resided in Albany, GA for the past forty years moving from Altoona, PA. She was a lifelong Speech Pathologist and educator with her career spanning forty five years. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church joining in 1972.

Survivors include two sons, Henry A. Shugart and his wife Kelli of Suwanee, GA and Sam F. Shugart of Albany, GA, a daughter, Lelah Ruth Wright of Port Townsend, WA, a sister, Ann Hykin and her husband, Martin of Ashville, NC and three grandchildren, Grace Shugart, Aniston Shugart and Roean Wright. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Allen Shugart.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
