Myrtle Wiggins Hatcher

Myrtle Wiggins Hatcher, 94, of Sylvester, GA, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Wilkes will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hatcher was born in Albany, GA on December 27, 1927 to John and Nannie Wiggins. She grew up in the Albany-Leesburg area. Mrs. Hatcher was employed with Coates and Clark for many years and also with the Flower Bakery Store on East Broad Ave. She attended the Doerun Church of God and enjoyed the challenge of puzzle and word search books. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Danny J. Hatcher, and her daughters, JoAnn Holton and Rhonda Hayes.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay Watson of Sylvester, GA, her grandchildren, Leanne (Josh) McDonald and Todd Greathouse all of Sylvester, GA, Geoff Hatcher of Albany, GA, Christy (Matt) Lamm of Carbondale, CO, Mandy McDonald of Orlando, FL, Robbie (Laura Beth) of Leslie, GA, Stacy (Greg) Allen of Salem, IL, Scott (Trina) Swift of Lee County, GA and Jason Musgrove, FL, fifteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
