Myrtis Wilkes Howard, 92, of Albany, GA, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Magnolia Manor, Americus, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Born in Ocilla, GA, Mrs. Howard had resided in Albany, GA for all of her adult life and was retired from Albany Internal Medicine. She was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church and was a member and teacher of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a member of Women in Construction, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Oscar Wilkes and Gladys Hazel Knight, a brother, Jack Wilkes, and the father of her children, Hillsman Rudolph Howard.
Survivors include two sons, David Craig Howard (Mimi), Albany, GA, Donald Charles Howard , Wesley Chapel, FL, a sister, Melba Paulk Veazey, Ocilla, GA, three grandchildren, Dr. Whitney Howard Haidet (Dr. Andrew), Naples, FL, Emily Brown, Athens, GA, Ben Rawlins, Albany, GA and a great-grandson, Frazer James Brown.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 14, 2017 one hour prior to services at Mathews Funeral Home.
