Myrtice Estella Creel

Myrtice E. Creel, 89, of Albany, GA died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Larry Daughtry, Jr. and Rev. Jerry Etheredge will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

Born to the late Earl and Lula Creel in Opp, AL on November 19, 1921, she had resided in Albany, GA most of her life. She retired from Flint River Textile Mill in 1983 and had attended Harvest Temple Church of God until her health failed her. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Daughtry and four sisters, Mary Lewis, Ernestine Grubbs, Nell Cook and Bea Griffin.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Frances Deanna Daughtry of Albany, GA, three grandchildren, Pam Drew of Albany, GA, Angie Tickle and her husband, Lonnie of Tampa, FL and Larry Daughtry and his wife, Gina of Tifton, GA and five greatgrand-children, Julia Walker, Logan Walker, Morgan Drew, Cory Daughtry and McKenzie Daughtry, two sisters, Earldene Mercer, Xenia, OH and Sheila Pounders and her husband John, Birmingham, AL.
