M.SGT. Daniel J. (Dan) Dickson USMC (Retired), 68, of Worth County, GA died Tuesday October 25, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Fred Smith will officiate. Interment will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, GA with Military Honors.
A native of Queens, NY, Dan had resided in Worth County for the Past twenty years moving from Albany, GA. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam Conflict and was employed at the Marine Corps Logistic Base as an Equipment Specialist and later as a Logistics Manager. Dan was of the Baptist Faith, a member of Loyal Order of Moose and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2785 and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lona Jeri O'Neal Dickson, his parents, Edwin James Dickson and Helen Marie Leis Dickson and a grandson, Wheatly Alford.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheryl Ramaghi of Beaufort, SC and Sandra Aultman (Mark) of Crisp County, GA, a son, Daniel Edwin Dickson of Worth County, GA, grandchildren, Jackie Alford, Craig Alford, Roxie Ramaghi, Mark Aultman, Christy, Aultman and Kellie Aultman, a great-grandson, Easton Ramaghi.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until funeral time at Mathews Funeral Home.
