Mildred Rivera Wells, 77, formerly of Rockville Centre, New York, died February 1, 2015. A funeral mass will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Rev. Raymond Levreault will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
A native of Ponce, Puerto Rico, born to the late Ramiro Rivera Alvarez and Antonia Rivera Gonzales, Mrs.. Wells moved to Albany, Georgia from Savannah, Georgia five years ago. She was a homemaker, received her Associates Degree from Macon Junior College and attended the University of Georgia where she studied Spanish Literature in the graduate program. She loved theater, music and preparing meals using treasured family recipes.
Survivors include her three children, Milli Sample and her husband, Steve and Victor Sanabria II and his wife, Marie all of Albany, Georgia and Jeanette Karesh and her husband, Jeff of Savannah, Georgia, a brother, Gilbert Rivera and his wife, Mary of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, four sisters, Elsa O'Neill and her husband, Bill of Rockville Centre, New York, Myrna Olsen and her husband, Ted of Bedford, Texas, Iris Leary of Medford, New York and Martha Cunniff and her husband, Edward of Hauppauge, New York, five grandchildren, Steve Sample, Jr of Naples, Florida, Wells Sample of Albany, Georgia, Margit Sample of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Emma Karesh and Jake Karesh both of Savannah, Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
