Mildred Joy Spargo

Mildred Joy Spargo, 75, of Newton, GA died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. David Wolfe will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg, GA.

Born in Columbus, GA, Mrs. Spargo had resided in Newton, GA for the past seven years moving from Albany, GA. She was a homemaker and a member of Travelers Rest Free Will Baptist Church in Baker Co., GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Jolly and Dora Duncan Jolly and her husband, John Benjamin (Ben) Spargo.

Survivors include her three daughters, Carol Marie Spargo, Albany, GA, Maria Denise Young (John), Newton, GA, Loretta Kay Spargo, Newton, GA, two sons, John Thomas Spargo (Grace), Newton, GA, Lonnie Paul Spargo (Angela), Columbus, GA, two brothers, Andrew Jolly, Columbus, GA, Howard Jolly, Conyers, GA, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at Mathews Funeral Home.
