Mildred Maloy Richardson 82, of Albany, GA, passed awayDecember 17, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. No services will be held at this time.  

Mrs. Richardson was born January 28, 1942 in Sneads, FL to Carlos and Stella Maloy. She grew up there and attended Sneads High School where she was the Homecoming Queen in 1960. She graduated in 1961. Mrs. Richardson met Marion Randall “Randy” Bates in Jacksonville, FL and they married in 1961. They moved to Albany, GA.  

She was employed first at Coats and Clark and later as District Manager for Brown’s Transport. After her husband’s death, she met and married Eldridge Carlos Richardson March 24th, 1986. They were married until his death in 2013. Mrs. Richardson was employed with Dougherty County Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS) until her retirement.  

She was an excellent cook specializing in old fashioned southern food. She enjoyed cutting her grass and gardening. She planted a variety of flowers and enjoyed growing sunflowers, fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed walking in her yard with her constant companion, a toy poodle named “Sam.” She was an avid bird watcher and believed cardinals were her lost love Carlos and child Jennifer watching over her. The family rejoices at their reunion in Christ.  

She was preceded in death by her husbands Marion Randall Bates and Carlos Richardson and her daughter, Jennifer Allison. She is survived by her children, Tammy (David) Morton of Lumber Bridge, NC and Marty (Michelle) Bates, Jr. of Lee County, GA, two brothers, Houston (Linda) Maloy and Milton Maloy all of Sneads, FL, her grandchildren, John (Nicole) Taliaferro of LaGrange, GA, Gregg (Heather) Taliaferro of Peachtree City, GA, Alex (Christen) Allison of St. Augustine, FL, Aaron (Chelsea) Allison of Murfreesboro, TN, GracenAllison of Athens, GA Eric Bates of Jacksonville, FL, Sharon (Jeff) Martin and Taylor Bates as well as 10 great grandchildren. 

Those desiring to make donations in memory of Mrs. Richardson, are encouraged to donate cash, food or bedding to the Lee County Animal Shelter, 101 Mossy Dell Rd., Leesburg, GA 31763.
