Mildred Reynolds Pickron

Mildred Reynolds Pickron, 97, of Albany, GA, died Monday August 6, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. June Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Donalsonville, GA, Mrs. Pickron moved to Albany, GA in 1949 from Damascus, GA. She retired from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in 1970 and was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. For many years she cared for her son James Raleigh (Jim) Pickron, who suffered from Parkinson's disease. Mrs. Pickron was preceded in death by her son Jim and her former husband, Felix C. Pickron.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Julia Pickron Denman and James C. Denman and her granddaughter, Chapleigh Cathline Denman--all of Alexandria, VA.

The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to Albany Community Hospice and Mary Blakely, Mercedes Griffin, Pearl Huggins, Teresa Smith, Bertha Thomas, and others who provided special care for Mrs. Pickron during the lengthy illness preceding her death.

The family will be at 1026 Edgewater Drive, Albany, GA.
