Micky (Mick) Lee McGuire

Micky Lee (Mick) McGuire, 63, of Lee County, GA, died April 22, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. Ronald R. Baxley will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Stillwater, OK, born to the late Earl L. and Geneva May McGuire, Mick grew up in Wichita, KS and graduated from Wichita High School South in 1969. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during Vietnam and moved to Lee County, GA in 1976. Mick was the owner of American Pride Carpet Care and was a member of the Artesian Car Club.

Survivors include his wife, Susan L. Newsome of Lee County, GA, two daughters, Shannon Lee McGuire-Gombar and her husband D.J. of Albany, GA and Lauren Nicole Newsome-Nichols and her husband, Neal of Lee County, GA, two sons, Shaun Patrick Pruet McGuire and Michael Justin Newsome both of Lee County, GA, three sisters, Earleen Sue Engle of Bella Vista, AR, Raye Annette Harris-Southern and her husband, Terry of Frederick, CO and Susie May Evans and her husband, Billie of Orlando, FL, a brother and his wife, Billy Earl and Patsy McGuire of Lee County, GA and five grandchildren, Alexia Renea Poole, D.J. Gombar, III, Maddux McGuire, Danalyn Nicole Nichols and Cooper McGuire. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ann McGuire.

The family is at the residence of Billy and Patsy McGuire, 2501 Ledo Road, Albany, GA, 31707.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
