Michael Dean Sipes, Sr

Michael "Mike" Dean Sipes, Sr., 70, OF Albany, GA died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Metter, GA. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Reverend Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native of Louisville, KY, Mr. Sipes had resided in Albany since August of 1996. Mr. Sipes was a machinist for the Civil Service and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Sipes and a brother, John "Butch" Sipes.

Survivors include his wife, Micki Lee Sipes of Albany, GA, a son, Michael Dean Sipes, Jr. of Louisville, KY, a daughter, Melissa Grant and her husband Richard of Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Tommie Sipes of Memphis, TN, Makala Sipes of Louisville, KY, Hadley Weiter of Louisville, KY and Kyle Grant of Albany, GA, a great-grandchild Keelie Weiter of Louisville, KY, a brother, Scott Sipes of Louisville, KY, two sisters, Lynn Borges and Kay Kirby both of Louisville, KY, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
