Michael Z. Kirkland

Michael (Mike) Z. Kirkland, 63, of Albany died Thursday, June 13, 2013. Funeral services to be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Doerun, GA. Rev. Chris E. Turner will officiate.

A native of Camilla, GA, Mr. Kirkland grew up in Mitchell County, GA and has resided in Albany, GA since 1968. He was a truck driver and was employed with Quality Wrecker Service for seven years and retired from Wal-Mart. He was a member of Lighthouse Ministries.

Survivors include, his wife, Mable W. Kirkland, two daughters, Nyra and Terry Hogeland of Hubert, NC, Michelle and T. Eric Calhoun of Lee County, GA, a son Todd and Lori Kirkland of Lee County, GA, three brothers John and Nora Kirkland of Grand Ridge, FL, Sonny and Rachel Kirkland, Breman, GA and Gary Kirkland of Albany, GA, five sisters Kay and Buddy Lowe of Sumter, SC, Margaret Simpson of Albany, GA, Liz and Danny Pelham and Glenda Harrell all of Sylvester, GA, Linda and Bill Goble of Hartsville, GA, six grandchildren, Melinda Ferrell, Austin and Brie Coleman, Chandler Coleman, Tyler Calhoun, Abbi Kirkland and Sara Kate Kirkland, two great-grandchildren Haleighe and Ryle Jo.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
