Michael E. (Mike) Gavin

Michael Eugene (Mike) Gavin, 56, of Lee County, GA, died January 25, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Prince will officiate.

Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A native of Albany, GA born to the late Vernon and Sara Gavin, Mike lived in Albany all of his life before moving to Lee County, GA nine years ago. He graduated from Albany High School and along with his family, owned and operated Gavin's Grocery for many years. Mike was an avid salt and fresh water fisherman and was a member of Albany Gospel Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. (Trish) Gavin of Lee County, GA, two step-sons, Stephen (Annie) Jordan of Warwick, GA and Michael Clark of Denver, CO, a brother and his wife, Mark and Dawn Gavin of Lee County, GA, a sister, Theresa Gavin of Albany, GA, three nieces, Ashley Lamon and her husband, Kurt of Lee County, GA, Paige Gavin of Atlanta, GA and Brandi Gavin of Macon, GA and three nephews, Christopher Lyninger of Columbus, GA, Zack Lyninger and his wife, Heather of Moultrie, GA and Donnie Robine of Albany, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
