Michael Lee (Mike) Cox, 55, of Milledgeville, GA formerly of Albany, GA, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Navicent Medical Center in Macon, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. Carl R. Felts will officiate. Throughout Mike's childhood he resided in Albany, Ga. He was a 1978 graduate of Dougherty High School. At age 15 he began his 40 year career at Piggly Wiggly. Starting as a part-time courtesy clerk Mike advanced his way through the company and became a Store Manager. His dedication and love for his job was every bit as strong as his love and dedication for his family. Mike's greatest joy was being with his family, mother, brother, and all his entire family and extended family that we became part of. His nieces and nephews he loved and cherished dearly. Mike had many children that he took under his wing and was a father figure to and you all know how much he loved you and the joy you brought into his life. The most precious day in his life was when our daughters came into our lives and he became a father. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest B. (Sonny) Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra K. Cox, twin daughters, Carrie E. Cox and Kaylee M. Cox all of Milledgeville, GA, mother, Carol B. Cox, Doerun, GA and a brother, Steve Cox (Meredith), Sylvester, GA.

The family is at the residence of Carol B. Cox, 1064 Gintown Rd., Doerun, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
