MGySgt Louis Jay Stack, USMC (Ret.), 98, of Albany, GA., died Friday March 22, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Lanning and Rev. Ken Myers will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors.
A native of Lycippus, PA, Mr. Stack has resided in Albany, GA since 1963 moving from Camp Lejeune, NC.
He was a veteran of WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War serving in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Stack was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch # 339, American Legion Post # 30, The United Methodist Men, the Men's Bible Sunday School Class and Avalon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Key Stack, Albany, GA, a son, Ronald J. Stack (Daphne), St. Simons Island, GA, three daughters, Donna Stack Horton (Snookie), Spartanburg, SC, Carolyn Stack Noel (Gordon), Canton, GA, Manya Stack Miranda (Bill), El Paso, TX, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
