Merree Long Gooch

Merree Long Gooch, 94, of Albany, GA died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Morningside Assisted Living Center. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate.

Born in Dougherty Co., GA, Mrs. Gooch had resided in Albany all of her adult life. She was a homemaker and a member of Raleigh White Baptist Church. She was a Godly wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was very involved in the ministries of her church and enjoyed crafting, gardening, and visiting shut-ins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toland Theodore Gooch.

Survivors include a son, Theo Gooch, Jr., Albany, GA, three daughters, Charlotte Moorehead, Albany, GA, Barbara Doss, Tallahassee, FL, and Virginia Adams (Bobby), Albany, GA, one sister, Dorothy Medders, Sylvester, GA, nine grandchildren, Nancy Horton (Jeff), Susan Johnson (Ronnie), Troy Doss (Brandi), Todd Doss (Judi), Bob Adams (Whitney), Sarah Peek (Chris), Rachel McDowell (Joel), Ivy Gooch, Ben Adams, six great grandchildren, Geoffery Horton, Duane Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Hunter Horton, James Adams, and Jackson Adams.

The family is at the residence of Bobby and Virginia Adams, 4405 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31721.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at Floral Memory Gardens.
