Mercer M. (Buck) Allegood

Mercer M. (Buck) Allegood, 80, of Lee County, GA died March 3, 2017 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Paul and Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Colquitt, GA, Mr. Allegood grew up between Moultrie and Funston. He served in the United States Army in Germany and moved to Albany, GA in the early 1960's. In 1973 Mr. Allegood moved to Lee County, GA and was employed with Pritchett Honda as a salesman. He was a member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church and was recently baptized at Philema Road Baptist Church. Mr. Allegood was also a member of the VFW Post # 2785 and the Loyal Order of The Moose #1285.

Survivors include three children, Pam Griffin, Joyce (Tony) Downs and Craig Allegood all of Lee County, GA, a sister, Willene Pinney of Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Casey Griffin, Eric Strickland and Brian Downs all of Lee County, GA and Danielle (Nick) Musgrove of Bay Minette, AL and nine great-grandchildren, Dylan Griffin, Carson Cook, David Amburgery, Aiden Amburgery and Ethan Amburgery, Brynlee Clark, Bentlee Downs, Ella Musgrove and Ava Musgrove.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
