Melvin (Bud) Eugene Weeks

Melvin (Bud) Weeks, 81, of Fort Gaines, GA, died June 12, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM at Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough, GA. Rev. Tim Mock will officiate. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday at Haisten Funeral Home.

A native of Atco, GA, Bud had resided in Fort Gaines, GA for the past twenty five years moving from Stockbridge, GA. He was owner/operator of Weeks Construction Company, a member of Flippin Church of God and was an Air Force Veteran. Bud was a big Atlanta Braves fan and was collector of antique model cars. He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Weeks and Timothy Weeks, two sisters, Ruby Whittle and Odell Murphy, a grandson, Daniel Delk.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Kimbrel Weeks of Fort Gaines, GA, three sons, Frank Weeks of Kingston, GA, Thomas Weeks (Pam) of Fayetteville, GA and Kenneth Kimbrel (Margaret) of Leesburg, GA, four daughters, Sherry Page of Albany, GA, Jackie Alcorn (Billy) of Leesburg, GA, Pam Boyd (Nicky) of Hahira, GA and Renee Evans (Robert) of Woodbridge, VA, brother, Wayne Weeks (Hilda) of Fort Gaines, GA , a special granddaughter, Morgan Evans and fourteen other grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
