Melba Jewell Cravey

Melba Beasley Cravey, 80, of Albany, GA, died Friday, December 16, 2022 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:00 noon at Mathews Funeral Home.  Charles Harris will officiate.  Entombment will follow at the Crown Hill Mausoleum. 

Mrs. Cravey was born in Moultrie, GA on August 20, 1942 to Charlie Roston Beasley and Jewell Elizabeth Beasley.  She was raised in Moultrie and married Willie Ralph Cravey at the age of sixteen.  Mrs. Cravey was a military wife for many years until Mr. Cravey’s retirement in 1980.  They moved with their family to Albany, GA in 1980 and Mrs. Cravey was employed with C & S Bank for many years before her retirement.  She was a member of the American Legion Post #30 Auxillary and enjoyed her flowers and yard, sewing and baking.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ralph Cravey.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Moore (Don) of Albany, GA and Teresa Cravey Summers (John) of Leesburg, GA, her siblings, Billy Beasley and Marnel Beasley, four grandchildren, Justin Moore (Katie) of Cairo, GA, Bryan Moore (Kayla) of Albany, GA, Jordan Hamby (Chandler) of Sparks, GA and Ty Summers (Ella) of Leesburg, GA, three great-grandchildren, Coralie, Darcy, and Henry and many nieces and nephews.  

The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon before the service at Mathews.
