Melissa Harpe

Melissa Lynn Wingate Harpe, 47, of Albany, GA died September 23, 2020 at Northside Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery at 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, GA 31721. Please observe social distancing. Melissa was the daughter of Brad and Cheryl Harpe born on January 21, 1973. She graduated from Westover High School and received her Nursing Degree from Darton College. Melissa was employed in the Cardiac Care Unit at Phoebe Putney but lived most of her adult life in in Bethlehem, GA. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Melissa dedicated her life to helping the sick. She had a true love for the elderly and was an amazing nurse. In her free time, she enjoyed cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, spending time with her three sons, and participating in marathons to help raise money for various charities. Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grady and Nita Wingate. Survivors include her three sons, Dalton Hood of Winder, GA, Seth Hood of McDonagh, GA and Nate Howell of Winder, GA, her parents, Brad and Cheryl Harpe of Leesburg, GA, her siblings, Roger (Trish) Cook of Lee County, GA, Maria (Brian) Patterson of Albany, GA, Brandi Harpe of Kathleen, GA and Anita Cook of Leesburg, GA and many loved nieces and nephews.
