Melanie Diane Cooper

Melanie Diane Mott Cooper, 55, of Albany, GA, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Eidson will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Born November 13, 1958 in Albany, GA, Melanie had been a lifelong resident. Melanie was a 1976 graduate of Albany High School she graduated Albany State Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree and received her Master's Degree from University of Phoenix. Melanie was a Special Education teacher at Morningside Elementary School.

Survivors include a son, Eric Cooper (Sheri), Clinton, IN, a daughter, Lauren Cooper (Doug Perry), Albany, GA, her parents, Charles H. Mott and Elizabeth Gamble Mott, Albany, GA, a sister, Lisa Schreiber (Frank) of Albany, GA, four brothers, Leland Mott (Anita), Atlanta, GA, Marshall Mott (Carole), Pensacola, FL, Kevin Mott (Wendy), Atlanta, GA, Steve Mott, Phoenix, AZ, a granddaughter, Victoria Perry, Albany, GA, nieces, Christie Mott, Atlanta, Amy Letson, Pensacola, FL, Teresa R. Mott, Atlanta, GA, nephews, Ryan Mott, Pensacola, FL, David Gray (Jennifer), Leesburg, GA, Nathan Schreiber, Albany, GA, Chuck Schreiber, Albany, GA, Preston Mott, Atlanta, GA, Sean Mott (Brea), Phoenix, AZ, first cousins, Bob Pate, Brenda Pate, Ronnie Pate and Rick Pate.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
