Melanie Ann Chapman

Melanie Ann Chapman, 74, of Albany, GA died July 2, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 6, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Putney. Rev. Danny Evans will officiate. Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Mausoleum.

Born in Oconee, GA, Mrs. Chapman had resided in Albany, GA all of her adult life. She was employed with Turner Supply Company for the past forty five years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Putney. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Albert Thompson and Lucile Wilford Thompson, husbands, Neal Stripling and John William Chapman and a sister, Janice Drake.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Stripling Barfield and Gene Barfield, Sr., Lee Co., GA, a brother, William Alvin Thompson and his wife Betty, Lee Co., GA, two grandchildren, Gene Barfield, Jr. and his wife, Amanda, Heather Barfield LeBlanc and her husband, Joey and four great-grandchildren, Gage Barfield, Joey LeBlanc, Chloe Rogers and Preston Barfield and her loving fur baby, Toby.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at First Baptist Church of Putney.
