Mary Loucretia Vanzant, 87, of Albany, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Morningside United Methodist Church. Rev. Betty Lou Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
A native of Early Co, GA, Mrs. Vanzant was born to the late D.C. and Mayme Anglin. She graduated from Elmodel High School in Baker, Co. and attended Berry College. She moved to Albany, GA in 1948 and her first job was working for the Albany Drug Company. Mrs. Vanzant then worked for thirty-five years as a bookkeeper for Lilliston Corporation before her retirement. She was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, James A.Vanzant of Albany, GA, a daughter-in-law, Gail Vanzant of Leesburg, GA, a sister, Beverly Rhoden and her husband Ellis, of Comer, GA, two grandchildren, David Vanzant and Michael Vanzant, both of Leesburg, GA, several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton S. Vanzant and a son, Charles M. Vanzant.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
