Mary Alice Rigsby

Mary Alice Rigsby, 79, of Albany, GA, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Alan Kirby and Pastor Sam Hartline will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery in Alapaha, GA at 3:00 PM.

Mrs. Rigsby was born in Fairfax, SC to the late Perry Woodrow Kinard and Ethel Stephens Kinard. She had lived in Albany, GA for sixty-one years. She was the proprietor of Mary's Daycare, a twenty-seven year member of the Women of the Loyal Order Moose Lodge # 1285 and was a member of the East Albany Church of Christ. Mrs. Rigsby was preceded in death by her husband, H. Leon Rigsby, a daughter, Rhonda Sue Rigsby Spillers, a sister, Beverly Jean Ronine and two great-grandchildren, Tanner Eugene Kirby and Billy Hopkins.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Kirby and her husband, Alan of Albany, GA and Elizabeth Thomas and her husband, Danny of Gainesville, GA, two sisters, Mattie Joyce Gallup and Velma Martin and her husband, Ken all of Albany, GA, and eight grandchildren, Charles Robinett, Richard Leon Robinett, Rhonda Jean Hopkins, Leon Perry Kirby, Martin Daniel Kirby, Mary Ann Thomas, Kayla Michelle Thomas and Danielle Nicole Thomas, fifteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home.
