Mary G. Reeder died on January 27, 2025, in Albany, GA, at the age of 89 years. Born on July 18, 1935, in Cave Spring, GA, she was the daughter of James L. Snead and Thelma Wilson Snead. Mary grew up in Eufaula, AL, and married Joseph A. Reeder in 1954. After several years as a U.S. Navy wife in California, she and Joe returned to Alabama and then moved to Albany, GA, in 1963, where they lived for the remainder of their lives.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three of her four siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Mary E. Hoffman (Dale) of Colorado; son, Joseph Allan Reeder (Brenda) of Albany; four grandchildren, Jason Hoffman (Sarah) and Joseph, Samuel, and Sally Reeder; and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Abbigail, and Juliette Hoffman. She is also survived by a brother, Samuel E. Snead (Sherry) of Eufaula, AL.
Mary was a member of Albany Elks Lodge, where she and Joe enjoyed the company of friends for many years. The family would like to thank all of the CNAs and nurses who kindly provided care during the last year of Mary’s life, as well as her special friends Crystal Farmer and Traci Marshall for their kindness.
Per Mary’s wishes, remains have been cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
