Mary Ruth Wilson Peeples

Mary Ruth Wilson Peeples, 89, of Albany, GA died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Coach Junior Peeples and Reverend Jeff Hood with officiate.

Born in Chancellor, AL, Mrs. Peeples was raised in Bainbridge, GA and moved to Albany, GA in 1951 moving from Grays, SC. She was a homemaker and a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church since 1953. She was an active member of Women on Missions, The Happy Hearts and Campers on Mission. She retired as the office manager of W. T. Grant's Department Store. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerome Wilson and Lottie T. Sconyers Wilson, her husband, Orion H. Peeples, Sr., two brothers, Sam Wilson and Horace Wilson, and two sisters, Frances W. Taylor and Jewel W. Ingram.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary P. Hood and her husband, Herb, Albany, GA, two sons, Coach Junior Peeples and his wife, Connie, Cordele, GA, Bobby Peeples and his wife, Lisa, Leesburg, GA, sister-in-law, Earlene P. Rivers, Early Branch, SC. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Kim Hobbs and her husband, Tony, Hollis Hood and his wife, Tina, Heather Johnson and her husband, Mike, Britt Peeples and his wife, Melissa, Ross Peeples and his wife, Sarah, Jason Peeples and Jackson Peeples, and nine great-grandchildren along with many special nieces and nephews.
