Mary Irene Lupinacci

Mary Irene Lupinacci, 75, of Albany, GA formerly of Penn Hills, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, while in the care of Willson Hospice House.

Born Aug 17, 1946, in Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of the late George V. and the late Irene (Claus) Lupinacci. Mary was loved by her family and will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mary had a charming sense of humor and enjoyed the Golden Girls, watching movies, pottery, and poetry. A devout Catholic, she adored her collection of religious figurines which she jokingly called her "altar", including her beloved "praying hands" statue that stayed beside her until her passing. For many years, Mary volunteered with local hospitals as well as The ARC of Albany, GA.

Mary is survived by her beloved brothers George X. Lupinacci (Marina) of Gibsonia, PA, Mark W. Lupinacci (the late Suzanne) of Renfrew, PA, and her sister Joanie Fordham (Ernie) of Jacksonville, FL to whom she was a devoted sister.

Mary was the aunt of Steven Lupinacci (Brooke) of Starke, FL and Sharon Kramer (Glen) of Renfrew, PA. Mary adored her niece and Goddaughter, Meredith Fordham Hughes (Stephen) of Lake Mary, FL, to whom she devoted endless love. She was preceded in death by her nephew Christopher Fordham of Albany, GA. Mary was Great Aunt to Benjamin (Lana) Kramer and Alexandra (Jordan) McDonald as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was the loving cousin to George Gerneth and Jane Garboden of Pittsburgh, PA.

Mary’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Nancy Paschal, Linda Cauley, the kind parishioners of St. Teresa's Catholic Church of Albany that devoted many hours of visits to Mary in her years living in Albany, GA, and Willson Hospice House.

The family's sincerest gratitude is extended to the medical professionals, caretakers, advocates, friends, and kind souls that showed Mary compassion throughout her lifetime.

A memorial Mass will be held in Mary's honor at St Teresa's Church of Albany, GA on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
