Mary Lou Higham, 87, of Albany, GA, died November 2, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Shane Mullins will officiate. 

Mary Lou was born in 1937 and raised in Indianapolis, IN. She met a young Marine, Chuck Higham, and they married in 1954. As a Military Wife and Mother, Mary Lou traveled with Chuck to many Stations during her husband’s career. Chuck’s career brought them to the Marine Corps Logistic Base in 1975 where he retired, and they made Albany home.

Mary Lou was a Volunteer at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (Pink Lady) and loved her job. Mary Lou was a member of Move Christian Church and also made Ice Cream cakes at Bruster's.

Survivors include her children, Charles “Sonny” (Sue) Higham of West Columbia, SC, Dennis (Sandy) Higham of Monticello, FL, Teri (Jim) of Talbot County, GA, Chris Higham of Philadelphia, PA, and Jennifer (Brad) Johnson of Tallahassee, FL, her siblings, Sallie (Johnny) Farr of Albany, GA, Jack Cameron of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Nancy Hanley of Syracuse, NY, Shirley Cameron of Ft. Wayne, IN, Delores (Paul) Saalfield of Ft. Wayne, IN and David (Rita) Cameron, Zionsville, IN and her grandchildren, April (David) Lichtenberg of Titusville, FL, Charles (Kimberly) of Sumter, SC, Brian (Katie) Kemp of Columbus, GA, Izzabella Johnson and Easton Johnson both of Tallahassee, FL.
