Mary Cliff Gergen, 89, of Albany, GA died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Wilson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Albany. Rev. William E. (Butch) Knight and Rev. Michael Sparks will officiate. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
A native of Columbus, GA, Mrs. Gergen and her late husband, George, resided in Albany, GA from 1976 until 2000. She returned to Albany, GA in 2004 from Columbus, GA. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Albany. Mrs. Gergen was preceded in death by her husband, George N. Gergen and a daughter, Anne Gergen Krout.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Gergen Morey of Albany, GA, two sons, Neil Gergen and his wife, Rosemary, of Albuquerque, NM and Nicholas Gergen of Albany, GA, seven grandchildren, Pam Bone and her husband, Jimmy, of Columbus, GA, Alan Krout of Columbus, GA, Chris Gergen and his wife, Rae-Ann of Albuquerque, NM, Clayton Morey of Atlanta, GA, Brandi Daniel and her husband, Kevin of Farmington, NM, Jennifer Morey and her fiancee' , Stephen Boggs of Albany, GA and Cliff Morey and his wife, Kelli of Warner Robins, GA, seven great-grandchildren, Gantt Bone and Curtis Bone of Columbus, GA, Kelsey Gergen and Jacob Gergen of Albuquerque, NM, Reese Daniel and Jett Daniel of Farmington, NM and Kevin Morey of Warner Robins, GA and an adopted great-grandson, Alex Curry, two sisters-in-law, Thelma Gergen of Orange, CA and Margie Mobley of Hamilton, GA and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
