Mary Prudence Brown

Mary Prudence Brown, 89, of Albany, GA, died January 25, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Charlie Brown and Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Grandsons and Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

A native of Damascus, GA, born to the late, Ewell M. and Nellie G. Lewis, Mrs. Brown grew up in Albany, GA and graduated from Albany High School in 1942. She was employed and retired from First State Bank. Mrs. Brown was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church for over eighty years and attended the Open Door Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry H. Brown.

Survivors include her son, Steve Bacon of Albany, GA, a daughter, Sue B. Turner of Atlanta, GA, step-sons, Greg (Patricia) Brown and Jeff Brown all of Lee County, GA, a step-daughter, Karen Brown of Mississsippi, a brother, Pete (Michelle) Lewis of Lake Wales, FL, her grandchildren, Stephen (Tracie) Bacon of Lee County, GA, Robert (Karyn) Bacon of Albany, GA, Kimberly (Stephen) Chitty of St. Simons Island, GA, Jessica Howe, Susannah Turner, Jenny Turner, John Turner, Jamie Brown, Amber Burson, Danialle Servis, Logan Brown and Blake Daniels and eleven great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a special nephew, David (Felicia) Lewis.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
