Mary Virginia Fomby Brooks

Mary Virginia Fomby Brooks, 87, of Lynn Haven, FL, formerly of Albany, GA died October 24, 2013 at Covenant Hospice in Panama City, FL. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany, GA. Rev. Tony Haef will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.
A native of LaGrange, GA, Mrs. Fomby-Brooks was married to Robert M. Fomby spending most of their marriage in Albany, GA. She was a homemaker, a former member of Sherwood Baptist Church, the Pathfinders Sunday School Class, the Albany Garden Club, and the Keenagers. After the death of Mr. Fomby in 1993, Mrs. Fomby-Brooks re-married and moved to Acworth, GA in 2000 and joined Fair Oaks United Methodist Church. After the death of Mr. Calvin W. Brooks, she moved to Lynn Haven, FL to be closer to her daughter, Becky. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert M. Fomby, Sr. and Calvin W. Brooks.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky Burgamy and her husband, Bobby of Panama City, FL; her son, Robert (Bob) Fomby, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Lexington, SC; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
