Marvin Lewis Flournoy

Marvin Lewis Flournoy, 91, of Albany, GA, died Monday, January 19, 2015 at Phoebe North Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at New Park Cemetery, Ft. Gaines, GA. Rev. Jeff Hines will officiate.

Born in Columbus, GA, Mr. Flournoy was raised in Ft. Gaines, GA and left to make a career in the Navy. He returned to Ft. Gaines in 1967 and lived there until 1987 and has resided in Albany, GA for the past nine years. Mr. Flournoy served during WW II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Duke Flournoy, Sr. and Etha Bell Martin Flournoy, a son, Andy Flournoy and a daughter, Martha Ulmer.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Brown Flournoy, Albany, GA, two sons, David Flournoy, Charleston, SC, Bill Flournoy (Lisa), Ft. Gaines, GA, a daughter, Margaret Barron, Headland, AL, a son-in-law, Neil Ulmer, Smoaks, SC, a brother, Felton Flournoy, Athens, GA, a sister, Betty Bryan, Dothan, AL, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
