Mark Austin Lee, 53, of Albany, GA, died January 1, 2018 at his residence. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Evelyn Duvall will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. A native of Ashville, NC, Mark grew up in Cairo, GA and graduated from Cairo High School in 1982. He received a Fine Arts Degree from Valdosta State College and was employed in the Food Service Industry all of his adult life. Mark was employed at restaurants Lloyd’s and Yesterday’s in Albany, GA, the Grand Old House in Thomasville, GA, Albert’s Provence and managed Chez Pierre, and, most recently, Avenue Eat and Drink in Tallahassee, FL. Mark was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Cairo, GA. He loved his son, his family and his dogs, Montana and Kita. Since the age of 8, his passion was fishing and he loved to cook. He was preceded in death by his father, James Carthell Lee, Sr. and his brother, Jamie Lee. Survivors include his son, Jacob Lee of Tallahassee, FL, his mother and step-father, Ginger and Ken Folsom of Albany, GA, the mother of his child, Tammy Davis Lee of Tallahassee, FL, and his close friends, Jeff Stump of Tallahassee, FL, Tim White, Mark Cain, both of Cairo, GA, and Clarence Burnett, of Albany, GA. Interment will be at the Zorn Prayer Garden at the First United Methodist Church of Albany, GA. Those desiring may make contributions to Camp ARROW, P.O. Box 647, Thomasville, GA, 31799.
