Margie Nell Brumbley

Margie Nell Brumbley, 73, of Newton, GA, died May 2, 2022 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the First Pentecostal Church of God.  Pastor Kenneth Thompson will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Pebble City Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Mrs. Brumbley was born on February 28, 1949 in Thomasville, GA to Lloyd and Florence Vick.  She was raised in Mitchell County, GA and graduated from Mitchell County High School.  Mrs. Brumbley received her Bachelor of Education Degree from Georgia Southwestern College and received her Masters from Albany State University. 

Mrs. Brumbley taught school in the Dougherty County School System, the Mitchell County School System and retired from Albany Technical College after seventeen years.  She attended the First Pentecostal Church of God and loved spending time on her computer, with her grandkids and at the beach. 

Survivors include her children, Lonnie David Brumbley III (Casey) of Saucier, MS and James Steven Brumbley (Melba) of Newton, GA, her sisters, Jerrie Autrey (Emory) of Meigs, GA, Annette Holland (David) of Newton, GA and Rhonda Ethridge of Leesburg, GA, her grandchildren, Toni Jewell (James) of Waverly Hall, GA, Dave Brumbley and Christian Brumbley both of Saucier, MS and Jamie Brumbley, Jonathan Brumbley and Kaitlyn Brumbley all of Newton, GA and six great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, May 6, 2022 at Mathews Funeral Home.
