Margaret Williford Willis

Margaret Elizabeth (Williford) Willis, 80, of Albany, GA died peacefully June 5, 2024 at Wynnfield Park Health and Rehabilitation.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Mathews Funeral Home with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens.  Rev. Jim  Eubanks will officiate.

Mrs. Willis was born on January 28, 1944 to John Ewell and Manzonia Louvincie Lovett Williford in Baker County, GA.  She was a very dedicated federal employee with over thirty years of service, starting at a very young age with the Marine Corps in the Base Supply warehouses.   There was never a task too large for her to handle.  She later moved to Pennsylvania where she married her husband Vincent and worked for the 911AW/USAFR as the Operations Support Branch Officer where she retired due to a private contractor transition.  She then continued her career with the VT Griffin Contractor for several years.

In 2008, she relocated to Albany to spend time with her family to provide care and company to all.   She always offered her support to anyone and became friends with many that crossed her path.  Her selflessness was endless.  She had a love for animals never letting a stray go hungry and becoming her “fur baby companion.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vincent (1989) while residing in Pennsylvania.  Also, two sisters, Agnes (Kitty) Harris, MaryAnn Willis and four brothers, John Williford, Edwin Williford, Robert Williford and James Williford.

She is survived by son, Ben Barrett, Jr. (Connie), step-daughters, Theresa Werkheiser, Cindy Morrow (Don), her sister Frances Mikilitus, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

May she rest in peace and fly high with the Angels.  Forever in our hearts.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 10, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
