Margaret Elizabeth Blocker

Margaret Elizabeth Blocker, 96, of Baconton, GA, peacefully passed away at her residence on May 17, 2024. According to her wishes there will be no service held.  

Born on December 18, 1927, daughter, to the late Wade Franklin and Johnnie Mae Dyches, she dedicated years of her life as a cashier clerk for the Sing Stop and Shop store, leaving a mark on her community with her warm smile and helpful nature.
 
Margaret will always be remembered for her passion for her adult Sunday School class she taught for over 15 years and a member at the Lighthouse Ministries and singing, preparing hearty meals for her cherished family. Her hobbies included tending to her roses, finding peace in watching the birds, and even taking delight in the simple tasks of washing dishes and folding laundry, and she never missed the train coming through town.


She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elonzo Willis Blocker, her children Drennen “Deke” Blocker, Gloria Larkin and one great-grandchild, siblings Wade Dyches, Grace Thursby, and Christine Cook.


 Survivors include her children: Cheryl Cross, Tricia Stewart, Janice Hall (David), all of Baconton GA, and Darren Blocker of Stedman NC. Margaret is also fondly remembered by twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren, siblings Janie Johnson of Camilla GA and Stella Cook of Boykin, GA.
