Mack Odom

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mack Odom, 75, a longtime resident of Leesburg, GA, announce that he entered into eternal rest on February 25, 2015. Surrounded by his family he went to meet the Lord. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate.

Mack is the son of William Cleo Odom of Augusta, GA and Stella Whittaker Odom of Kibbie, GA. Mack was a well-respected horse trainer who passed his love of the cutting horse down to his children and grandchildren; he enjoyed teaching others the art of training cutting horses. He was a local businessman in Leesburg, GA and owner of Mack Odom Asphalt and Paving.

Mr. Odom was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of forty two years, Shirley Temple Thompson Williford Odom, a daughter, Rosemary Williford, a son, Clint Williford and a brother, Jack D. Odom, sisters, Hazel Blaxton Davis, Lucy Christine Odom Peacock and Susie Nell Odom Taylor.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Debra Moore and her husband Dennis, Leesburg, GA, Glen Williford and his wife Judy, Ellijay, GA, Tim Williford and his wife Teri, Ailey, GA, Mark Williford, Albany, GA, a sister, Elizabeth Kathleen Odom Collins, Vidalia, GA, grandchildren, Jason Barwick (Cristy), Jeremy Barwick (Candace), Justin Barwick (Kayla), Sheri Hope (Mike), Ashley Barksdale, Wendy Williford, Joshua Williford, Jerry Fordham, Stacey Fordham, DeWayne Conger, Denise Willis, Brian Willis, Taylor Williford, Zachary Willford, Melissa Gring (Terry), nineteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, Harriet Smith a special niece and caregiver, Jessica Jackson a care giver and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
